CHAPTER EIGHT

When we had gotten inside I could see that several posters were covering the walls. Most of the posters were of the Beatles or Led Zeplin.
As I got my eyes off of the walls I looked to the furniture. There was a couch that was facing the kitchen door. A TV was sitting to the left of the couch, a coffee tabel in front of the couch with some magazines spread out on it. And then laying against the TV there was a guitar.
"Is that yours?" I said.
"The guitar? Yeah."
"Play something for me?"
He smiled, then set me on the couch and grabbed the guitar and sat next to me. He started to play a song. It was 'Eight Day's a week' by The Beatles. I started to hum along to it, the melody and harmony comming to me. Conner started to sing too, us singing and harmonizing with eachother.
By the end of the song both of us just sat there, side to side. Then Conner started strumming to a new song. It was 'Stairway to Heaven' by Led Zeplin.
I was just sitting there occasionally singing, "And she's buying a stairway to heaven."
Conner sat there and continued strumming, listening to me sing. I don't know if I liked it a whole lot, but every time I saw Conner glance and wink at me it made my stomach fill with butterflies. When we finneshed the song, Conner looked at me (I mean really looked at me), and then ever so slowly leaned forward to kiss me.
My heart sped up and my hand reached into his hair. I was loving every feeling that I got from it.
After a little while though when I released my lips to take a breath, I looked at the clock. It said midnight.
I sadly told him that I had to go. He offered to drive me back to the hotel. When we got in the car I asked him a question that kept on probing at me. "Conner, why do you have a house but you stay at the hotel?"
He explained that it was just a storage place. And since he didn't like the way it looked, and he travled back and forth from America to England he just prefers to use a hotel. I thought that I would just leave it at that. Sounded good enough to me.
When we got to the hotel and rode up the elevator Conner walked me to my room. Before I got out my key I looked up at him and smiled. Then he gave me a kiss goodnight, and then turned around to the elevator doors and then dissapeared in them.
