CHAPTER SIX
When I woke up the next morning I had to force myself to get out of bed. When I finally did I knocked on my parents door. Dad answered (of course) and opened the door wider to let me through.
The look on my mothers face was dreadful. It was a mixture of sadness and pain. I walked over to her immediately and sat by her side.
She gently put her hand up to my face and sighed. Dad just looked at us for a minute and then said, "I'll leave you two alone for a minute."
When he left I looked back at her and said, "Mom, how long have you had cancer? Dad Say's that you've had it for too long to be able to get rid of it."
She sighed then said, "Darlin' I have had cancer for over two years now."
"What?" I said almost yelling. "Then why didn't you tell us?"
"Because," She replied calmly, "I didn't know about it until just recently."
"Well how long is just recently?"
"Before we left for here."
"You should have told us."
"No, I shouldn't have. You see, I didn't want to scare you and miss out on the beauty's that lie here in Scotland."
"But there is still one question I have. How is it that you didn't get any symptoms, when you got the cancer? Wouldn't something have happened?"
"Anna," She said, resting her hand on my arm, "God has a mysterious way of working. I think what he did was hide any symptoms for me to die."
"Well why would he do that? That's not very nice."
She laughed a little. "Anna, he doesn't want to kill me. He wants me to die. There are many people on the other side that need help and guidance. Just remember that there's always a reason for natural death. People always have a time." Mom started talking quieter. "And people always have a place. And I believe that I have full filled my mission. Which is bringing you to the world and bringing you up to a beautiful, sweet, smart woman. I love you my little rose." And with that she was gone.
