Anna

CHAPTER FIVE

When I walked up to my hotel room, a smile spread on my face, I heard a door shut. I looked over and it was my dad walking out of his and moms room. He still looked tierd and sad.
"Dad?"
"Hmm?"
"Are you okay?"
"Anna...." he paused. "... We need to talk." Once he said that, I knew something wasn't right.

"Cancer? What? But the doctor said that it was just a minor illness. It could just be a really bad case of the flew."
"Anna. Yer Mam does have cancer. And it's not going to go away."
"How long has she had it? It couldn't have been for that long. She has seemed so, so normal this whole time."
"Well aparently she has had it for quite a long time. For so long that the doctors said she doesn't have much longer to live."
"What? No." I said, tears streaming down my face.
"Yes Anna."
"No, no this can't be true."
"Anna, it's as true as yer old pap sittin in front of you is."
"No."
"Yes."
"No!" I screamed, grabbing dads key and running into his and moms room.
When I saw her on the bed just laying there I slowed my pace, slowly walking towards her.
"Mom?" I could tell she was exauhsted but still she slowly turned her gaze towards me.
"Ah, me dear Anna." She extended her hand out toward me and I grabbed it and held it on my cheek.
"Me Mam."
"Ah, I see that yer usin yer old Scotish brough."
"Yes. I see that Scotland has just come to me."
"Oh, I love yeh Anna."
"I love you too mom."
I just sat there with my mom for hours, just crying. Mom and me just staring at eachother through tear filled eyes. That's when I knew that Me and my mom were closer than I thought.
